Ella describes “DANGEROUS” as a song that reflects her internal struggles with ego and fear, calling it a personal rabbit hole she had to dive headfirst into. Her songwriting is sharp and emotional. The track opens with a powerful line and from there, it delves into a self-conscious narrative about not being able to express ourselves and say what we feel, self-sabotage, ego trips, and emotional breakdowns. There’s a haunting edge to the vulnerability she displays, especially in the chorus:

The song took her an entire summer to finish, and its meticulous construction is evident in every bar. A graduate of the USC Thornton School of Music and recipient of the Songwriters Hall of Fame Award, Ella has forged a dynamic career spanning live performances, sync practices, and major collaborative projects. “Sometimes ‘DANGEROUS’ is how I experience the industry; other times it’s how I experience myself. Everything scary is a reflection of what I truly want so bad I’m scared to get it, and when I let those fears rule my mind, it gets really dangerous for me,” she said.
