NYC is a destination that needs neither introduction nor an occasion. And if you’re planning your next visit to the Big Apple and want to try something new, we might have just found your next best spot — and some hand-me-down trip advice for friends down the line. Tucked behind the glass doors of New York’s iconic hotel, The CIVILIAN, lies a full itinerary for city explorers looking for an evening filled with a starred gastronomic experience, followed by atmospheric and indulgent pre-drinks, and, of course, a rooftop party for an evening boogie.

Starting on the ground floor, guests can begin with dinner at Rosevale Kitchen, an elevated American bistro with a concealed Secret Garden, a hidden urban sanctuary where guests can enjoy their à la carte menu or opt for the elevated prix fixe — perfect for before a Broadway show — with a 3-course meal and curated wine list.

After dinner, pop up to the 2nd floor at Rosevale Cocktail Room to indulge in their weekly jazz nights every Wednesday to Saturday, and try some vermouth flights from the largest collection in the country. The cocktail room also has a unique drink menu called “The Hero’s Journey,” embodying the essence of a hero’s transformation and alluding to the property’s roots in the heart of the Theatre District and the shows that capture this iconic journey. Separated into six categories — The Ordinary World, A Call to Adventure, Crossing the Threshold, Trials & Transformation, The Ordeal, and Homecoming — each drink symbolises the stages in a hero’s journey to take your senses to the test. Truly an unforgettable experience!

To end the evening in high spirits, make your way to the rooftop, where Starchild brings the party. Operational year-round, Starchild boasts two outdoor patios and a retractable rooftop that can quickly transform to become a fully open-air space with panoramic views of the New York skyline and Hudson River. Grab cocktails and light bites at sunset, dance under the stars post-theatre, or go all out and book table service on the weekend when DJs spin house, funk, soul, and disco.
